I have a '96 Johnson 130. the power trim motor is out on it. The motor's in the down position. Having trouble getting the manual release screw out to pick it up. Anyone have any suggestions besides taking the motor off? Missing the fishing. Tight lines to all.

Not sure what a new trim motor costs these days, but it sounds expensive. This is probably a good question for Ray or OldFrog. They seem to know a lot about fixing stuff. Sorry you are having trouble man.

It could be a relay under the cowling. Or a fuse.
I never had an issue with a trim motor or pump.

You Probably resolved the issue already. MY Trim Was acting up and got stuck in the down position I had to use a jack and a 4x6 to get it up. I changed out the cylinoid for my trim and it works like new now...just a thought
